Managing DeepLynx NexusAdministrator Functions

Administrator Functions

Nexus supports three types of administrators: Site Admins, Organization Admins, and Project Admins. Each level provides specific controls and permissions that cascade down the hierarchy.

Permission Hierarchy

Projects inherit roles and permissions from their parent organizations, while also allowing custom roles, permissions, tags, and security labels to be created at the project level.

Site Management

Site Admins have the highest level of access and can:

  • Invite users to Nexus
  • Create organizations
  • Manage organization members
  • Create OAuth Applications

Organization Management

Organization Admins have control over their organization’s structure and can:

  • Add users to the organization
  • Assign roles and permissions
  • Create and manage groups
  • Assign users to groups
  • Design tags and security labels

Note: All users are placed into the default INL organization and can be added to other organizations as needed. Roles and permissions configured at this level are inherited by all projects within the organization.

Project Management

Project Admins have detailed control over individual projects and can:

  • Invite users and groups to projects
  • Assign roles and permissions
  • Create data sources
  • Allocate object storage
  • Design tags and security labels

Note: While projects inherit roles and permissions from their parent organizations, Project Admins can create custom roles and permissions specific to their project’s requirements.
